1993 festival programme The licenced number of attendees has again increased - this time to 80,000, while ticket have increased in price by over a third since 1990.

The good causes - local as well as the major beneficaries of Greenpeace and Oxfam - benefitted to the amount of £250,000.

The Festival had all of the usual entertainments and attractions: music, theatre, circus and cabaret/comedy, cinema, the Green Fields, Kidz Field and the markets.

The Pyramid stage featured (in no particular order): Rolf Harris (for the oldie spot - his first Glastonbury), Midnight Oil, The Velvet Underground (on a re-union tour ... not as good as it looked on paper), Robert Plant, The Black Crowes, Alison Moyet, Hothouse Flowers, Lenny Kravitz, The Kinks, Van Morrison, Galliano and others.

The N.M.E. stage was again the 'second' stage this year. Performers included (in no particular order) Belly, Teenage Fan Club, Suede, Dodgy, Verve, Jamiroquai, Ozric Tentacles, Stereo MCs, The Orb, Back to the Planet, Mega City 4, Lemonheads, Spiritualized and others.

The Jazz stage included (in no particular order) Transglobal, James Taylor Quaret, D-Influence, Roy Ayers, Omar, Urban Species and others.

The Acoustic stage included Eddi Reader, Sharon Shannon, Lindisfarne, Blues Band, Nanci Griffith, Donovan and others.
